Summer Bucket List Challenge 2024

Now that Memorial Day has just passed, it feels like the summer season is official upon us. That makes this a wonderful time to put together a summer bucket list of fun “to dos”. The great thing about these lists is that they can be completed with friends, with family, or just something fun for you! There’s no right or wrong to what can be included, and it’s a great way to hold yourself accountable to try something new, meet new people, explore a new area, and more!
If you’re looking for some ideas of what you might consider including in your summer bucket list, here are just a few for you to consider:

- Google has compiled a “Summer Bucket List 2024” based on resources from across the web. Here are some of the ideas that Google has shared, accompanied by some local means to tick the idea off of your list. * Shelby’s favorite
- Have a picnic
- In your yard
- Hike to the top of Pinnacle
- *Wilson’s Landing
- Go hiking

- There are too many fabulous, local options to list. Check out the UVTA to explore options!
- Outdoor Concert
- Orford Summer Concert Series
- * Lake Morey Summer Concert Series
- *Loch Lyme Lodge’s Sunday Summer Soirées (feat. Lyme musicians!)
- Bike (across America)
- E-Bike lending library through Vital Communities (It will be coming to Lyme this year! More info to come.)

- Upper Valley Mountain Bike Association (UVMBA)
- Fly a kite
- There are many good spots to fly! Read the article, Go Fly a Kite! from “NH Magazine” by Marty Basch (March 26, 2015) to learn more about optimal conditions and some of the best spots in New Hampshire to visit for kite flying.

- In your backyard
- Upper Valley Fun has a wonderful collection of area camp sites
- *Willoughby Rescue (I’m a big animal lover)
- Kayak
- *Rent one and launch from the Ledyard Canoe Club
- Storr’s Pond
- A day pass to Lake Morey affords use of their kayaks (and more)
- *Post Pond if you have your own
- Visit a local museum
- Make art
- Read a book
- * Converse Free Library has an amazing selection! If you’d enjoy a book group, explore the Neighborhood Book group happening on the third Thursdays at 7pm.
- Shop at a farmer’s market
- *Lebanon Farmer’s Market – Thursdays 5 – 7pm in Colburn Park
- Norwich Farmer’s Market – Saturdays 9am – 1pm Rte 5 South in Norwich
- Water balloon fight
- Your yard is a great spot for fun!
- Amusement Park
- *Story Land (fun for the whole family, they also have adult only 21+ “Nostalgia Nights”)
- *Santa’s Village (Note: tickets are ONLY available online. Be sure to try the Gingerbread cookies – YUM! 🤤)
- Six Flags New England
- Canobie Lake Park
- Beach
- Chase Beach at Post Pond
- If you can manage a day-trip or an overnight trip to enjoy the ocean, there are loads of beautiful beaches throughout New England.
