Painting with Pastels

Instructor: Beth McGee

On Monday, March 15th CCL held our first virtual Painting with Pastels night. For a bit over an hour a group gathered through Zoom to be given step by step instructions, which were appropriate for all levels of experience. Painting with Pastels is being taught  by the talented teacher and artist, Beth McGee. Our first focus was landscape, and by the end of class attendees showed some beautiful works. As Beth mentioned, your artwork is not done until you sign it. In the days after the event a few attendee works were sent in to CCL signed and they’re beautiful!

If you were curious about the first event but were worried about having little to no experience with pastels, don’t be! Beth is very encouraging and with some pretty spiffy technology shows you exactly what and how to add dimension and use color to make the work come alive. We have one more scheduled event set for Wednesday 3/24 starting at 6:30. If there is enough interest we may look to expand upon this series too!

To register for this event please contact shelby@cclyme.org by Friday 3/19 at noon if you need help acquiring supplies; this will be coordinated for Monday 3/22. If you do not need help with supplies you can register as late as Wednesday at noon. For more general information see our event here. Please feel free to share this information with friends, family and colleagues – our first class was amazing and we’d love to share this opportunity!
