“Glowing from the Inside Out”

The pandemic has brought to the forefront the importance of mental health and wellness and needing to take care of ourselves. It’s extremely important to take care of yourself, both mentally and physically. The two aspects greatly influence one another. You can positively affect both at the same time by letting someone provide some personal care. Taking time out for yourself is telling yourself and others that you are worth it and you matter. Your body is worth this attention and thrives from it. So many people put themselves last and fill everyone else’s cup first.
I’ve got three ideas to share this week: getting a facial, sitting down for a pedicure, or receiving Reiki.
The wonderful benefits from getting a facial go far beyond your face! Our skin and body show very easily the stress that we are under. Sore muscles in the neck, back, or shoulders can be massaged away during a facial. Lack of sleep can cause dehydration in the skin which can be remedied with the products applied during a facial. Poor eating and drinking habits can cause oily skin, acne breakouts, or dehydrated skin as well. High frequency (oxygen molecules emitted from an non-evasive electrode) can help kill the bacteria and speed up healing time. Having a facial with a skilled licensed esthetician, you can learn proper skincare habits and the right products to use, while you are being pampered at the same time on a nice warm heated bed. Sounds pretty nice!
Through your busy day one part of our body that is constantly under stress and being used is our feet. It’s hard to imagine anything more relaxing than having your feet submerged in warm water infused with Dead Sea salt, having your feet groomed to perfection, and then all your aches and leg pains being massaged away. An added bonus is having some polish applied to perk you up. It doesn’t matter if no one else sees them but you. You are the most important!
Reiki is using universal positive and healing energy to promote emotional and physical healing and well-being. Reiki balances out your chakras (the seven energy centers in your body). If they are blocked, you can experience emotional and physical signs of being “off”: feeling groggy, making silly mistakes, feeling anger or jealousy, or feeling stuck in life, just to name a few. The chakras represent different parts of your emotional and physical well-being, and they need to be balanced for you to feel your best. For Reiki, you lie face-up on the treatment table, fully clothed. The practitioner uses hand placements, from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet, balancing out your chakras. It is absolutely painless, and there are no negative side effects from reiki … only positive high vibrational energy.
Self care is so important to us, but many have a hard time justifying the time or the money for it. I like to tell clients that booking appointments ahead of time is a great way to have alone time and pampering to look forward to through the week or month – especially if it’s been a busy and stressful time period. Things seem a lot easier to deal with when you know there will be a reprieve soon. Many people need to carve out that time to recharge and regroup their energy.
Glowen Day Spa’s theme is, “Glowing from the Inside Out”. I truly believe that when you feel happy, joyful, peaceful, and calm on the inside you glow on the outside. My vision, when thinking of how I wanted to help others, was to share something for everyone from all different walks of life. I want those who have never had a facial or a manicure feel comfortable coming in for the first time. Feel free to connect with me and start your journey to a better sense of self!
