I would like to personally invite you to this workshop on Tuesday, December 3 from 6:30 pm-9 pm at the Converse Public Library. And this is why.
I was driving one April morning on a beautiful sunny day out West. All of a sudden I saw a cloud of dust ahead of me and through that cloud I saw a rolled over SUV in the medium strip. As I pulled over to see if I could help, others pulled over too. One passenger had been thrown through the front window and was very still, but breathing. Even though I was a doctor I was without the resources that I usually surrounded myself. I felt so helpless not knowing what could be done in the middle of nowhere, except perhaps cardiac resusitation. I think of that scenario and the helplessness I felt to this day. I don’t want that to happen to you!
Two years ago I received training to teach the FEMA course, “You Are the Help Until Help Arrives”. This hands-on experience will equip ANYONE with the “what to do” in those first 7-15 minutes while waiting for the Fast Squad or Ambulance to arrive. This is the most critical time after an accident, trauma or serious injury and with simple measures you could save a life, bring comfort and start the emergency response process. You can be that help! Now don’t you wish everyone had this training?!
