Our volunteer chorus members are drawn from the local community and have a wide range of musical and theatrical backgrounds. Sight-reading is not necessary, but a good ear and the ability to memorize music and text is. Theatrical experience of some kind is helpful, but again not required; the ability to be comfortable on stage is. Although a number of singers from previous productions return to audition for new shows, we value the presence of new faces in our choruses every year.
This year’s show takes us to Northern England at the height of the Industrial Revolution, in an original production by Revels North. This is the 45th Christmas Revels in the Upper Valley, and our first at historic Lebanon Opera House in downtown Lebanon, NH. Take a chance to live your Christmas Revels dream!

ABOUT THE SHOW
It is December 26th in a small town in Northern England at the height of the Industrial Revolution. Workers at the textile mill are enjoying the last hours of their Christmas holiday. The factory owner, none-to-pleased with the celebratory mood, brings his workers back to the reality of their lives inside the factory walls. Despite his controlling presence, the workers are hopeful and resilient. Helped along by the hands of Fate, their ability to celebrate life’s beautiful moments prevail in the 45th Christmas Revels.
Join us for the first time at historic Lebanon Opera House in Lebanon, NH, for a raucous, romantic, and inspiring celebration, with all of the pageantry and tradition that defines The Christmas Revels. Audience singalongs, children’s singing games, a mummers play, the mysterious Abbots Bromley Horn Dance, and Susan Cooper’s poem “The Shortest Day” will weave together with an engaging story of struggle and the strength of the human spirit in this original production by Revels North.
