This display of nativities (crèches) from around the world will coincide with the Utility Club’s Tree Festival celebration on the Lyme Common. Dozens of nativities are shared by neighbors — there are family heirlooms, precious gifts, keepsakes from foreign travel, childhood memories, and more — and displayed in the quiet beauty of the sanctuary. Dessert-style refreshments and beverages are offered in Fellowship Hall.
We welcome the inclusion of nativities from anyone who would like to share theirs for others to enjoy. Please bring it to the church any time between noon and 4:30pm on the 2nd. It will be carefully handled and attended until the end of the evening. If you cannot retrieve it by 7:30, it will be kept in one of the rear pews until you can. Please include with it a card describing its origin.
Many families find this evening to be an especially meaningful opportunity to share the many joys of the Christmas season with their children and neighbors. We hope you can visit, even if only for a few minutes and a snack.
