This year we will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Lyme Christmas Pageant! Hope you can join us for one of the performances December 7, 8, and 9.
The Lyme Christmas Pageant is an annual tradition dating back to 1948 — before there was running water in the church building! Over the years the music and dance choreography have changed, but the story remains the same. All are invited to participate – you don’t need to be a member of one of the Lyme churches or any church. Look for more information about the various roles in next month’s newsletter, but here is some advance notice for the angel dancers (grades 6-8).
We are planning for angel dance rehearsals on Tuesday afternoons 3:15-5:15 pm at the church starting on Tuesday October 23rd. We anticipate that the rehearsal on Tuesday November 13th will begin at 2pm (and continue until 5pm) because the Lyme School gets out early that day (parent conference week). Angel dancers who attend Crossroads can join in at 3:15 pm as usual — — unless they’d like a reason to get out of school early! Angel dancers are also expected to attend the Saturday morning rehearsal on December 1st from 9 am to noon, the Friday, December 7th dress rehearsal from 6 to 9 pm, and both performances. The angel dances are very carefully choreographed and depend on each angel taking responsibility for her own part and her interactions with the other dancers. For this reason, it is very important that all dancers attend all rehearsals and performances.
