Evening classes begin at 5:45 PM and end at about 7:15 PM.
$84 for the series of seven classes or $16 by the class.
Consider joining me for this upcoming seven-week series of yoga focused on building strength, balance and flexibility through standing, prone and seated poses. Evening and morning classes are pretty much the same and you may choose to attend either class on any given day.
Why is it that our efforts to live a happy and fulfilling life and to be who we want to be sometimes get stalled along the way? Our philosophical focus will be based upon exploring the five kleshas. In the second chapter of the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali outlines “the means to liberation.” Within these key principles we find the five kleshas, or obstacles to growth: ignorance, egoism, attachment, aversion and clinging to life. Sutra 2.2 introduces the subject very clearly: “The goal of Yoga is not to obtain something that is lacking: it is the realization of an already present reality.” Yoga practice removes the obstacles that obstruct the experience of samadhi, the blissful union of body, mind, and spirit.
Beginners are welcome in all classes; poses will be adapted for suitability for those who are less strong, flexible or familiar with yoga. Wear comfortable clothes, and please bring your own mat and a sturdy cotton or wool blanket.
Please let me know if you’re planning to attend.
Reiki will also be offered on Tuesdays beginning at 10:45am. If you would like to reserve a time you are welcome to call or email Community Care.
