Greetings,
Muskeg Music is delighted to sponsor Contradances on Second and Fourth Saturdays this Fall.
Tracy Hall, 200 Main Street, Norwich, VT (we enter through the back doors by the White Church)
We also sponsor English Country Dancing (first Fall Dance is this Sunday 9/8 at 1 pm! – at St. Barnabas Church)
ECD is a bit more sedate than a kick-up-your-heels contradance, with sublime music and lovely dance figures.
– see caller David Millstone’s site for a calendar, to sign up for his newsletter, and for more info about social dancing.
please bring A CLEAN CHANGE OF SHOES for the hall.
the lovely wood floor at Tracy Hall has just been refinished
we ask dancers to change their shoes and keep the floor beautiful for dancing
bring a water bottle, a potluck snack for the break, a smile, … and a friend!
These dance styles are simple, easy, and approachable for beginners and new dancers.
Walk-through for new dancers at 7:45 pm
All dances are first taught and then called, while the LIVE MUSIC plays!
Sat. 9/14 – 8:00 pm – Contradance with music by Chimney Swift (from Somerville, MA) – “a groovy eclectic band”
calling by Nils Fredland (how are we so lucky to get Nils for two dances in a row?!?)
Chimney Swift is:
Cecile Leroy (cello) / Daniel Raine (cittern/guitar) / Avalon Zoë Madonna (accordion) / Yaron Shragai (percussion/whistles)
Sat. 9/28 – 8:00 pm – Contradance with music by Roger Treat and Lloyd Carr, calling by Shari Shakti
Admission is $12, $8 for students and under 16 are FREE!
(…and here’s a secret – no one is turned away…)
