– Contradance! –
We’ve got some *incredible* musical talent coming our way for TWO October Contradances at Tracy Hall in Norwich, VT…
(200 Main Street, we enter through the back doors by the White Church)
Plus on 10/13 there’s a SPECIAL early potluck supper (5:30 pm) and Community Dance (6:30 pm – fun for all!) sponsored by Revels North.
….and what-the-heck *is* a Contradance anyway?
– that’s right- light physical activity; simple, easy-to-learn dance figures; and a chance to socialize with your friends and neighbors.
Beginners and Singles always welcome, all dances first taught, then called while the music plays.
Visit local caller David Millstone’s website – he’s got a dance calendar, and you can sign up for e-mail notices about local dances:
Dancers should dress comfortably in layers and bring:
– a *clean* change of shoes for the dance floor (smooth soles and low or *no* heels work best)
– a water bottle and potluck snacks for the break
– a smile and a friend~!
7:45 pm – Walk-through for new dancers
8:00 pm – Contradance (if you’re new to this come early for the easiest dances)
Sat: Oct. 13th- Jane Orzechowski (fiddle), Deanna Stiles (flute) and Gordon Peery (keyboard like you won’t believe!!!)
Caller – Nils Fredland
these fantastic musicians have been ripping it up for decades, and they haven’t lost a step
we could call them “The Best of New England” – and we wouldn’t be so far off…
