Chamber Music at UVMC: Benefit concert for UVMC-

We’re all hoping for the return of spring this weekend! Join the Upper Valley Music Center for Beethoven’s “Spring Sonata,” with guest artists Elizabeth Chang and Hiromi Fukuda.

1-2 pm, piano and violin master classes- free and open to the public for observation.
4 pm, concert, $35, benefiting the Upper Valley Music Center’s Annual Fund

Sibelius: Five Pieces; Grieg: Sonata No. 2 in G Major, Op. 13; Beethoven: Violin Sonata No. 5, “Spring Sonata.”

Elizabeth Chang, violinist, enjoys a multi-faceted career as performer, teacher, and arts administrator. Her performing career has taken her to more than twenty countries and her chamber music appearances have included collaborations with many of today’s leading artists. She is currently a faculty member of the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the Pre-College Division of the Juilliard School.

An active collaborative and solo pianist, Hiromi Fukuda performs extensively across the United States and her native Japan. She has performed at the Hidden Valley Music Seminars in Carmel Valley, CA, Music Academy of the West Summer Festival in Santa Barbara, An Appalachian Summer Festival in North Carolina, the Reflection Series in New York and Miami, Rockefeller University Tri-institution Noon Concert, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Vermont, and Juilliard’s Focus! Festival, as well as Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Seiji Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood, Harris Hall at Aspen Music Festival, Steinway Hall and Yamaha Salon in New York City, and Tokyo’s prestigious Suntory Hall. Her performances were broadcasted on WQXR and VPR, the public radio stations of New York City and Vermont.
