If you want to experience the benefits yoga has to offer but are concerned about the level of fitness required to move around, bend and get up and down, then perhaps a CHAIR YOGA class may be for you! Yoga is for every body regardless of size, fitness, age or ability. The benefits of yoga are all there with CHAIR YOGA- strengthening of the body, relaxation of the mind, enhanced balance and coordination and improved range of motion…all in a non-competitive, social environment.
Chair yoga is a slow-paced class that incorporates traditional seated and standing yoga poses supported by a chair. The use of the chair as a prop can take away the worry you may feel to start a regular yoga practice. While most of the class activity is performed seated in a chair, for those who are able, some standing (with support) and floor movements may be given. For those unable, alternate poses appropriate for remaining seated will be given.
