“Black Musicians Matter”
Thursday, August 26th
Denny (gazebo) Park
This family-friendly event from the Summer Street Music Series features a phenomenal lineup of BIPOC musicians, including local favorite Senayit, co-founder of the Series and an activist for racial justice through her music and beyond. Also performing are Mikahely of Burlington (originally from Madagascar), and Kali & Ancestors in Training from the Northeast Kingdom. Burlesque artist Golden Mystique will “Femmecee” the event.
“Black Musicians Matter” will celebrate music, community, and connection with these luminous artists. Free food graciously provided by Bradford vendor Bright Sun Kitchen. Advance contributions to directly benefit the musicians can be made at https://gofund.me/5918d7eb.
Since 2011, the Summer Street Music Series musician’s network and local creative economy hub has brought bluegrass, folk, rock, reggae, hip hop, jazz, blues and more to our community. These concerts are a cultural touchstone for the region, enriching the local arts scene with quality live music accessible to all.
