CCL Weekly Update – 3/12/2021

Spring Forward

After watching the sun set on this week’s lingering flirtation with Springlike warmth, and in anticipation of changing our clocks ahead one hour to usher in longer sunny evenings, I’m flooded with metaphors that describe how so many aspects of our lives and world are unfolding right now. Perhaps you are too.

Whether you’re feeling it existentially or pragmatically, and whether it seems sudden, too-long delayed, or maybe just unbelievable, Spring is coming. Maybe not next week. Certainly not without mud. But it’s coming! I hope you are able to take a deep, happy, and hopeful breath with me this weekend.

Thank you to Kata Sasvari for sharing her beautiful “Drone Painting” over Cummins Pond, while enjoying the trails at Green’s Woodlands. What a week it has been!

Do take a look at the notes and calendar listings below. There is lots to do safely, with others, all week long. It’s kinda nice.

May your spirit be filled with this week’s promise of Spring.

With Love, Martha

News & Notes:

Vaccination update.

Did the President say all adults should be eligible by May 1st?? Did we say “have patience”? “Yes!”, to both. President Biden is directing states to make all adults eligible for the vaccine by May 1st, and there’s every reason to believe that vaccines will be available. This is so hopeful! Still, the logistics and communications challenges are big, and they are different in each state, and even each community. That means that it’s perfectly appropriate to be excited, because we all will get our vaccinations sooner than expected … and also certain that there will be bumps along the way. You are doing an amazing job, showing patience with the process and careful attention to your own vaccination schedule (including challenges some are experiencing). Thank you!

We are so very fortunate to have Margaret Caudill-Slosberg (“EOC Lyme” on the Listserv) in close contact with community members, as well as those at the heart of New Hampshire’s vaccination planning team, and communicating the latest details. Watch for her emails. Also watch for public announcements across media. Things are evolving quickly. Call 603-795-0603 or email help@cclyme.org if you have questions or need any help getting – or getting to – your appointment. We’re in touch with Margaret and regional vaccination planning teams.
