CCL Weekly Update – 8/27/2020
Ascending into my next trip around the sun …
I’m reminded of the year past and the astonishing challenges that surprised us all. With the challenges came big changes which continue to drive our days. These changes can be viewed negatively and/or positively. I’m going with positive because that’s the direction I want to go as I swirl through this next tier of my life.
Amidst the health scare, we are now aware. The awareness heightens our ability and desire to care.
Amidst the default isolations, as neighbors and friends we are calling and caring and watching out for each other.
Amidst the uncomfortable lifestyle changes, we have moved to a slower, more deliberate way of life. We’re conscious of where we are, what we’re doing, and how it may affect others.
Amidst the tedious need for direction, which includes masks and distancing, we continue to communicate and provide constructive ideas for managing this new world we find ourselves in.
I gratefully recognize our tremendous gifts of conscientious leadership, dedicated emergency response teams, and a considerate township working together to care and cope.
CommunityCare of Lyme extends support to the multitude of school officials, staff and families who are currently striving to weave a solid homecoming for the kids who are missing the rhymes and rhythms of a loving and creative school space.
There’s no better way to celebrate a birthday than knowing you’re part of a really cool and collected crew of family and friends. Thank you for that!

Mine’s for You, Yours is for Me … Let’s keep the virus out of Lyme and stay safe for school (and so much more we’re eager to get back to normal.) There’s now a Select Board resolution to wear masks in Lyme. If you need masks, call CommunityCare of Lyme at 795-0603 or email help@cclyme.org.

Consider how you might contribute to making the school year safer, healthier, easier – just a little bit better – for somebody whose life is pretty darned complicated this crazy fall. (There are a lot of “somebodies.”) Look out for requests from the school, PTO, or individual parents. If you see the request, they’re inviting YOU. It’s a huge help to busy organizers when you respond directly and don’t wait for the personal call. Email pto@lymeschool.org to offer your help. You can also call us at 795-0603 to discuss ideas. We hope to help bring out broad, intergenerational community support. Now’s the time, Lyme.

As school nears, more is opening up; and more people are coming to Hanover and across the Upper Valley for the start of Dartmouth’s Fall semester. As you are out and about, please be thoughtful about how to keep yourself and others safe and healthy. Wear a mask when you are in public. Continue to keep a safe distance. Stay home if you are sick at all. And please be kind, as you encourage others to practice safe behaviors. ❤️ ?.

Lyme Sound Off against Covid!, 7pm.
- Wednesday (9/2):
Grab & Go Curbside Take Out Meals*, 12-12:30pm at the Upper Valley Senior Center. All Welcome. $3 suggested cost per meal.
- Thursday (9/3):
Pre-ordered Food Package Pick-up* 3pm at the Lyme Food Pantry Lyme School drive up. We will also deliver. Please pre-order at 795-0603 or help@cclyme.org.
