CCL Weekly Update – 8/26/2021

Keep your heart open…

When things jumble up, as they sometimes will
Step back and hear your heart.
Listen to the sounds of the rush of life
Beating through the sturdy channels of you.
The preparations for a new year of school,
the new schedules and new ways.
Signs of a good reason to move ahead
and be present in the offerings of the challenge.
Embrace the jumble and welcome the change,
It means life remains in your heart.
And as the heart receives the challenges so does your life and the channels keep moving things round.
Welcome the fall that comes with the all,
of classes, games and events.
Keep your heart open to reason with the change and be able to truly enjoy where it’s sent.

Wishing you well in these days of new ways and hoping your heart channels you in peace.

With Love,  Patty

News and Notes:

Lyme EOC COVID-19 Update From 8/20/2021

“As the summer of 2021 comes closer to an end this is not what I had hoped to be discussing. The fact is that infection with the SARS COV-2 virus has gained strength in its ability to mutate and that the number of COVID cases has been increasing. In the past two weeks NH has seen an increasing number of cases and now all counties have achieved a substantial level of transmission.

The delta variant (a variant of concern) is a mutation of the SARS CO-V2 virus that has increased in prevalence in the U.S. and has been associated with increased case numbers and possibly increased illness severity. Those who are not vaccinated have experienced serious illness and death.

Currently 70.5% of our community has been vaccinated and while being vaccinated is associated with a high level of protection from serious illness and death related to COVID it may not keep you from becoming infected. Unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals who become infected can transmit the virus to others.  This allows COVID to spread in the community and endangers the unvaccinated and more vulnerable vaccinated community members.

What should you do?

Get vaccinated if you are not and are 12 yrs or older. If you need assistance finding out where to go or getting there contact CommunityCare of Lyme 603/795-0603 or go to https://www.vaccines.gov/ for vaccination sites.

With the number of cases increasing at the current rate, all NH counties are at a substantial transmission level and it is recommended that you resume wearing masks in public places whether you are vaccinated or not, particularly indoors, maintaining 6 ft. distancing. Frequent use of hand hygiene with soap and water or hand sanitizer is important as it has always been.

A triple layer or at least a double layered mask is recommended. Double masking with a disposable mask under cloth masks or using masks with filters or N95/KN95 masks are suitable for public places. Cloth masks should be washed after use.  Masks should be handled so that contact with the front of the mask is avoided and your hands washed before and after removal.

If you should develop new, even mild upper respiratory symptoms (for example – cough, runny nose, fatigue, fever) consider COVID testing (https://www.covid19.nh.gov/resources/testing-guidance ) and isolate at home until test results are back.

Quarantine information for unvaccinated household members after exposure to a COVID positive person can be found here: https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dphs/cdcs/covid19/documents/self-quarantine-covid.pdf

In the weeks to come resources to accomplish booster vaccines against COVID will become available. For those who are immunosuppressed DHMC just released a resource description at https://mydhpatientemails.cmail20.com/t/ViewEmail/r/8F994DD81405DCF82540EF23F30FEDED/2A9750F2670F1038ED8367FBA2854891

We will also share resources for vaccination against influenza this fall as they become available.

Stay tuned for further developments as they unfold. Be Safe!

Celebrating this month …

Family Fun Month. The month of August is a celebration of fun! As the days of summer wear on, we’ll share some fun ideas to make this month, well, fun! Here are a few fun ideas:
