CCL Weekly Update – 7/22/2021

A little magic.

Thursday morning, free of the grumpy clouds that greeted us the past few days, I was thinking about Wednesday evening’s Community Potluck on the Common. An effort to welcome new neighbors after a long year and a half of Covid induced solitude, it was thrilling to see the number of people who joined to meet and greet and share a meal together. Friends, new and old, chatted and enjoyed amazing offerings of creative, delicious food.

From my vantage point, being old and a long-time Lyme person, it was easy and fun to remember the years when “The Fair” came to town! The happy chatter and laughter of the shared meal was reminiscent of those fair days, when everyone came together to enjoy each other and our space. As a kid in those days, it was magic.

Wednesday night was its own magic. The magic of many hands making light work, and the magic of a wonderful meal built with love. It’s important to recognize the many efforts that helped make this gathering such a great success. Click here to read the full story and see pictures from the potluck.

Additionally, we want to remember and thank the many people who responded to the various and significant damages to properties and roads as the result of the Tuesday night storm.

With sincere thanks to everyone who, in one way or another, makes our life in Lyme such a special one.

Love,  Patty
