CCL Weekly Update – 5/8/2020

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

– Proverbs 31:26

We open this week’s message with love, appreciation and admiration for all the moms, young, old, and in between, who have been the caregivers and nurturers to get us where we are today.  Kids don’t come with directions. Parenting is tricky. Mothering is exhausting. These past months have been particularly challenging for moms and dads alike. We hope your weekend is filled with the warmth and comfort that comes with happy memories, making memories, and nice days.  If you haven’t done it lately … call your mom, or call a person who extended themself to you with your comfort and well-being in mind.

As we reflect on the week past, we are humbled by the continuing and generous support that continues to pour through our beautiful villages. We see the genuine caring and respectful ways that neighbors help neighbors. The masks, created by talented and generous individuals, worn to protect each other; the offers of help and food to help assure safety and comfort; the enthusiastically-raked yards of neighbors, exposing the spring’s green promise.

And there’s lots more coming up. Do check out the Lyme Events Calendar. There are so many ways to participate in events, activities, and explorations from a safe, loving distance. The CCL News and Events link is full of contributions from the heart, shared by friends and neighbors. The Lyme School “We Miss You!” Upside-Down Parade should be a true joy, as the staff makes themselves available for the kids to “distantly” connect, in a fun – no screen involved – way. So much effort to enhance a comfort level for each other during these strange days. THIS is Lyme. Lyme is nurturing. Lyme is full of caregivers. Lyme is full of Heart.

From my Heart to yours, I hope you have a good week.
