We had a great first monthly discussion over lunch! On February 14th, 13 of us gathered and thought about Loving Winter. Jim Mason offered important guidance and there was rich discussion about staying safe and connected in winter … and now it’s seeming a little more like winter! Our Next Aging in Our Community Team meeting is Monday March 6th at 7pm by Zoom. Join us as we plan our work in the community together. All are welcome.

On March 21st at noon in the CCL Living Room, we’ll discuss Planning Our Best Future – How to make the most of our money, so we can take care of our home, our health, and our family. We’ll get a quick overview from expert Renee Harvey of Caldwell Law and discuss considerations for everyone (whether we think we have an “estate” or not). There are lots of pieces to this puzzle, and we’ll tailor the discussion to attendees’ questions. If you have questions you’d like to ask, we’d appreciate hearing them. On April 11th, we’ll discuss advance care planning for changes in our health and for the end of our lives, just in time for National Healthcare Decisions Day, April 16th.

The Orford Service Center – Lyme’s senior center – hosts a growing set of services as the pandemic loosens its grip. “Grab N’ Stay” meals on Thursdays, free ride service for pre-reserved transportation within the county, and more. Go to the OSC Website for menus, activities, and more. Contact OSC Coordinator, Jessica Musone at jmusone@gcscc.org or 603-353-9107, for reservations or questions. 

AARP Tax Aide offers free tax preparation for seniors and low income tax payers, at the Upper Valley Senior Center at 10 Campbell Street, in Lebanon on Tuesdays, through April 11. Tax aides will help process simple tax returns only; no returns with business, property management or large investments. Don’t wait to call  for an appointment: 603-448-4213. Appointment times fill up quickly.
