Preparing for the Holidays
Links to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, 2021) and a Lyme EOC post (2022)
There are many organizations that support individuals and communities either at a local or national level. Once per month, for Wellness Wednesday, we will share one of these well-respected organizations in order to connect you with more resources that support Health & Wellness.
In the midst of the holiday season, we are sharing information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, 2021) on safely preparing, serving and saving food this holiday season. The post Food Safety for the Holidays shares practical tips and reminders on topics such as keeping your food separated, proper temperature considerations for food items and how to safely thaw your turkey. Whether it’s your first time hosting this holiday season, or an annual tradition, visit the CDC site for concise safety tips and reminders that will be sure to keep you and your loved ones happy and healthy this holiday season.
Considering we’re now also in the jarring weather transition from sunny and 60s to blustery sleet in the 20s, we also wanted to re-share a post from the Lyme EOC last year on how to best prepare yourself and your loved ones for cold weather. With so many people traveling these next several weeks to visit friends and family this post offers several reminders and helpful guidelines on how to best prepare for winter conditions. Whether you’re traveling, hosting or spending time outdoors this post Prepare for Cold Weather is helpful to review so you can be prepared.
