CCL Weekly Update – 8/12/2021
Hot, Lazy Days of Summer……
With another stretch of hot and hazy days, not only do we think RELAX, but we think of friends and neighbors who might be adversely affected by the extreme temperatures. If you have a few minutes please take those to check on your neighbors who might need a bit of help adjusting a fan or finding a cool place to be for a few hours. The CCL office and Library both have air conditioning, and both extend an invitation to cool down if it’s needed. Don’t hesitate to ask. Miss Judy or I will be happy to help.
You’ll see by the details below, that we are looking forward to a busy couple of months coming up. With the continued cautions about more Covid outbreaks, we remain diligent with monitoring the situations and will adjust schedules as needed. Meanwhile we encourage everyone to mask up again and be considerate of each other in all ways.
Finally, we extend great appreciation and best wishes to Jeff Valence who, after many years guiding the Lyme School District out of and through some tough times with amazing results, will follow a different path in his life journey. Thank you Jeff, for the love and energy you have shown to the kids wherever you are!
Wishing you all a pleasant day, full of reflections of the Lazy Days of Summer and memories of your time in grade school with gifted people who cared.
With Love, Patty

News and Notes:
Updated Covid-19 recommended precautions for fully-vaccinated people.
Vaccination is both safe and also the best protection against serious illness and death due to Covid-19. If you have not been vaccinated, it is now easy. Click here to find the most convenient site for the vaccine of your choice. Also watch for “pop-up” walk-in vaccination clinics happening frequently.
Due to the rapid spread of the delta variant of Covid-19, the CDC has revised its recommendations. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Dartmouth College, and local businesses and organizations have changed their safety protocols. Practices for opening, working from home, masking, and distancing will be evolving in response to changing conditions, locally and wherever we may travel. Again, it’s time for patience and respect – for our own health and that of others. Isn’t it always?
Contact us if you have questions, and we’ll do our best to get you to the most up-to-date answers. Email help@cclyme.org or call 603-795-0603.

National Make-a-Will Month. Wills are how we let others know our goals and plans for our assets (like our money and our home) and our health care, so that when we’re gone or can no longer make our own decisions, our wishes are honored. See last week’s Wellness Wednesday post “The Gift of a Will” for a resource shared by the Upper Valley Haven. AARP also has several blogs sharing information for Make-a-Will month including the post, “It’s August, So It Must Be Make-a-Will Month” (Fleck, AARP, 2014). In this blog, Carole Fleck discusses the importance of making a will, along with sharing a few tips to help you get started.
