Ryan’s Run
June 1st, 2019 will mark the seventh anniversary of Ryan Saunders’ passing. Each year since, a growing group of family, loved ones, and supporters of the mission in his memory have come together for “Ryan’s Run” a fun rural 5k, to honor and remember a beloved Son, Brother and Friend.
Ryan lived a life full of excitement and adventure, and considered ski racing, above all else, his ultimate passion. As a Lyme, NH native, Ryan grew up racing the slopes of the Dartmouth Skiway. It is here friends and loved ones feel his spirit the most and this is why the mountain’s base was chosen as the gathering point to run, laugh and reminisce about Ryan.
Funds raised from Ryan’s Run are used to support camp opportunities for local youth. Community partners the Aloha foundation, the Family Place, the Lyme School and the Upper Valley Haven have helped to support and identify kids for our Ryan’s Run Campership at Horizon’s Day Camp, in hopes that the camp experience, one Ryan cherished, provides a fun and positive opportunity for kids to be kids and connect with themselves, others and the great outdoors!
