Night of the Nativities
Take a moving, rewarding walk among various artisans’ renditions of the scene at the manger after the birth of Christ. Peaceful holiday music and the warmly decorated sanctuary lend to a gently spiritual experience not always to be found in this busy season. This showing will be from 4 to 7 on the same evening as the Utility Club’s European Holiday Market in LCC’s Fellowship Hall and the tree lighting and Santa’s arrival on the Common. We would very much like to add your nativity to the display, and you to the audience.
Do you have a nativity set with a story that you’d like to share? A family heirloom, a special gift, a purchase in an exotic locale, or a favored Christmas tradition? Many others would love to see it and learn about it. If you’d be willing to display your creche in the Night of the Nativities at the Lyme Congregational Church this Saturday, we ask that you bring it to the church sanctuary (upstairs) on December 1st between noon and 4:00, along with a description on a card to display alongside. It will be watchfully attended until the end of viewing at 7:00. If you’re unable to retrieve it by 7:30, you’ll find it in one of the rear pews the next morning.
