What traditions make up your New Year’s Eve celebrations?
Here at Muskeg Music, we stick with what we know!
For nearly forty years we’ve been sponsoring a New Year’s Eve contradance.
Simple, easy, and fun – accessible to all – beginners and singles always welcome. A smoke-free and alcohol-free evening, light physical activity, and a chance to meet and mingle with your friends and neighbors. Potluck finger food snacks at the break, and …singing at midnight!
Walk-through for new dancers at 7:45 – all dances are first taught, then called while the music plays.
Music provided by Calliope – a New England All-Stars “big band” – with twin fiddles, accordion, clarinet, keyboard, trombone, and yes – coconuts~!
Calling by Nils Fredland – (how lucky we are to have such great callers living right here!!!)
Admission is $15, $10 for students and under 16 are FREE!
Dancers should dress comfortably in layers for changing activity levels and bring:
• a separate pair of clean shoes for the dance floor (smooth soles, and low or no heels work best)
• a water bottle, and – if you can – potluck snacks for the break.
• a smile, and a friend!
