Come check these cool exhibits:

Bygone Winters in Lyme: Come see how Lymies used to spend the long winters, both indoors and out.  Cool old ice skates, amazing early sleeping bag for outdoor camping, 9-foot traverse sled and more.  Samples of all kinds of needlework, from rugs to pillow tops, AND a partially hooked rug for you to try your hand at, thanks to our hooker friend, Sue Ryan!

Kitchen gadgets from the turn of the (last) century: exercise your detective powers as you try to figure out what these old new-fangled gadgets were designed to do!  HANDS-ON — Pick ’em up, turn the cranks — kids welcome, too (with adult supervision, of course!) This exhibit will come down soon, so if you haven’t had a chance to try them out and guess what each one was for, don’t miss your chance!  Informative and fun!
Another fun exhibit: “Lyme Collects”:  Something for everyone:  Bill Murphy’s campaign buttons (over 100 of them) and his postcards from around the world with a special LYME- twistEnglish bone china tea cups, stamps, cookie cutters, buttons, and more rug beaters than you ever knew existed.  FUN!

Other rooms continue to display vintage Lyme items, maps, photographs, and Abenaki tools.

Hours through April:

Saturdays 10am-1pm, and always by appointment lymehistorians@gmail.com

The Lyme History Museum, operated by the Lyme Historians, Inc.  is located in the Churchill-Melvin House at 15 Main Street across from the Lyme Common and between the Lyme Country Store and the cemetery.
