Continuing our “First Saturday” series:
11am – noon will be a special time with Don and Julia Balch Elder, two lifetime residents who grew up on opposite sides of our town. They bring a wealth of knowledge about history and the “old time” ways.
Come check these cool exhibits:
Bygone Winters in Lyme: Come see how Lymies used to spend the long winters, both indoors and out. Cool old ice skates, amazing early sleeping bag for outdoor camping, 9-foot traverse sled and more. Samples of all kinds of needlework, from rugs to pillow tops, AND a partially hooked rug for you to try your hand at, thanks to our hooker friend, Sue Ryan!
Other rooms continue to display vintage Lyme items, maps, photographs, and Abenaki tools.
Hours through April:
Saturdays 10am-1pm, and always by appointment firstname.lastname@example.org
The Lyme History Museum, operated by the Lyme Historians, Inc. is located in the Churchill-Melvin House at 15 Main Street across from the Lyme Common and between the Lyme Country Store and the cemetery.
