– The Lyme History Museum Open –
The Lyme History Museum, operated by the Lyme Historians, Inc. is located in the Churchill-Melvin House at 15 Main Street across from the Lyme Common and between the Lyme Country Store and the cemetery.
Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm or by appointment. If you have a question or need information please email or call us.
Come check these cool exhibits:
Come to 15 Main Street and Kitchen gadgets: exercise your detective powers as you try to figure out what these old new-fangled gadgets were designed to do! HANDS-ON — Pick ’em up, turn the cranks — kids welcome, too (with adult supervision, of course!)
Another fun NEW exhibit: “Lyme Collects.” Something for everyone: Bill Murphy’s campaign buttons (over 100 of them) and his postcards from around the world with a special LYME- twist; English bone china tea cups, stamps, cookie cutters, buttons, and more rug beaters than you ever knew existed. FUN!
Also, continuing only until Armistice Day, 11-11-18: World War I Exhibit: Don’t miss it! (Ever seen a 1918 gas mask or German helmets up close? YIKES — scary…)
Other rooms continue to display vintage Lyme items, maps, photographs, and Abenaki tools.
