Exploring Tools for the Citizen Scientist

with Nathaniel Sharp and the Upper Valley Land Trust

Sunday, May 5, 2:00 pm
Although not required, an RSVP would be helpful to the library — by phone (603.795.4622), in person, or by email (jrussell@lymenhlibrary.org). Thank you.

On Tuesday, April 23 Nathaniel Sharp introduced both the eBird and iNaturalist portals showing how to enter data into both websites and discussed the myriad uses of eBird and iNaturalist, ranging from tracking the migratory patterns of birds, to pinning down locations for hard to find species, to viewing phenological changes throughout the year.

On Sunday, we will meet firstat the library at 2 p.m. and then travel together to the Lyme Hill Conservation Area to put our new skills to work.

The Upper Valley Land Trust is happy to host and welcome i-naturalists and e-birders to learn and document nature at our Lyme Hill Conservation Area. On just one day last year, visitors documented more than 300 species there:  https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/lyme-hill-bioblitz . Please join us Sunday in the effort and add your observations!

Questions about the Lyme Hill Conservation Area? Contact Jason Berard, UVLT Stewardship Director.

This program is co-sponsored by the Converse Free Library and the Lyme Conservation Commission, with the support of Lyme Gardeners.
